A wonderful event just took place and since it was more of a closed event, I might as well pass on a peek. I had the pleasure of being present their, thanks to the cordial invitation from Sumantika Choudhury and the NuPro Team.
I am talking about the “NuPro Mumma Chef” Grand Finale, here. The competition held a couple of weeks ago, poured optimum lime light on the cooking skills of home makers across the city and provided them with the opportunity to showcase their cooking skills. It was a first of its kind consumer engagement program to display culinary skills of Kolkata cooking enthusiasts.
The result, you ask? A lot of women got a scope to venture out of their shells and break the mundane nature of their daily lives, and showcase what they are good at. Brilliant dishes were cooked and put forward for tasting by a prestige panel of judges, which included- much celebrated chef Sarmistha Dey, food enthusiast Mohan Nair and Business Head – Edible Oil, Mahindra Agri-Business, Deboshree Chakraborty.
With 56 home makers battling their way to glory, NuPro managed to put forward one of the best cooking events in recent times. Some of the great dishes put up for tasting from the 6 cooking rounds included- stuffed fish, navratna korma, shorshe katla, mango chilli paneer chicken, fish in green mango and mustard and a lot more. The winning dish was Panner aloo posto, cooked by Mrs. Sikha Mukherjee.
All the food items cooked by contestants and produced for the guests were cooked in NuPro Mustard oil. Delectable as it sounds, the food came out great.
